What does your Desk look like?
Konrad Beerbaum:
Damn, I need to get a camera. Here's my shitty cell phone pic.
Dual monitors are the shit. Once you go dual, you never go back.
killermonkey:
Triple monitors is even sexier, but its hard to find a graphics card that supports it ($$$) although i suppose if you SLI two cheaper cards you could manage it... but then you have to buy another $600 24" widescreen monitor (of course!)

They are 3 way speakers for highs, mids, and lows...it is VERY clear, but how they stack up to yours...I am not sure. :)

Oh, absolutely. I bet your speakers sound "better" than mine. Just saying that mine are made to expose all the flaws in the music I'm producing so I can fix them--accurate in that sense. :)
The Beatles pwn j00!:
LCD monitors everywhere.
CRT pwns LCD!
What are the advantages of having LCD anyway? Besides the obvious size and power efficiency (which makes it much easier to have multiple monitors, as you fancy people seem to like)?
I was always under the impression that good ol' CRT was better for gaming and quality graphic display in general.
I still have my infinitely heavy 7 year old compaq monitor, which still works to my satisfaction.
Konrad Beerbaum:
Because CRT monitors are 50 lbs and take up a huge section of your desk. Lcds are easier on your eyes if you have to stare at them 10 hours a day, you can get widescreen, and they are just plain nicer to look at. Plus you just can't really buy CRTs anymore.
LCD's use to have ghosting and color problems in the early days, but as long as you spend a decent amount of money, those aren't really issues anymore. The only exception might be for a graphic designer who needs super precise color calibration, but I bet high end LCDs will still hold their own.
