[Solved] Need Help: VirtualBox(linux) server not showing up
major:
change the level that the server starts. If you get errors pointing to that map too you might have a problem. (could just be a normal error's in Linux but IDK)
But the fact its starting with the Local IP seems to be the problem, looks like Vbox is a no go.
keefy:
Try the steam LAN server tab it should show up there.
Beign behind a router causes it to not detect your real IP in my experience, I have tried many times to get it to work.
not just a GES problem either.
Also in my experience its best to use windows server because when Valve sometimes updates the engine it ends up breaking only linux servers.
fatal510:
ive tried a few different maps cradle only gave me about 10 errors of the same unit/item/model a security door
im going to try running it on a windows VboX and see if there is a change
Edit: i always check the LAN page and then the server page then ill try to console connect on every ip i can think of
killermonkey:
You need to put +192.168.1.XXX in your command line. where XXX is your virtualbox's ip given by the router (try ifconfig)
You also want to do port forwarding not triggering
Disregard the texture errors they don't mean anything
Mark [lodle]:
Have you done step 4 on the server install guild on the wiki? AS if you dont you will get all the errors above.
