Oh yes, I remember. I was paying $4.23/Gallon (USD) not too long ago. Glad it finally came down, but its funny the economy around the world is now suffering too.
PPK:
Really funny indeed, really funny indeed. Specially when the money for those companies has to come from our pockets and in exaggerated amounts. Although diesel has lowered the price and is now being sold below 1 euro per liter (that's my car's fuel btw).
VC:
It's all just and adjustment.
Correct for inflation and fuel hasn't changed much. If anything, it's been running like water for a long time. The whole world is "suffering" because the whole world has been living on credit for the last half-century or more in one way or another. Stupid loans, credit cards, casual bankruptcy as a way of life, bailouts, the whole thing is building without a foundation, and now happens to be when the toppling starts.
Sean [Baron]:
Inflation yes, but when they don't inflate the average persons wages, people dont see; "Well gas is the same price as it was 50 years go -- just add inflation". Thats the problem.
The cost of just about everything is going up, but peoples wages are barely raising.
Anyways, lets get this back on topic.
PPK:
Yes, we are guilty for the economic crisis we live in as of now. What I say is that they still sell gas at roughly the same prices as they sold when the barrel had its price in 140 dollars. And they cannot come with the excuse they bought the oil at a high price and now they have to sell it at an high price or they would make up for the investment. They are one of the most profitable companies here, if not the most profitable and other companies that work in this area have already lowered their prices and they also bought the oil at high prices. the real problem is on the people who run it; all they want to see is profit rising, no matter what. That is one of the problems of the world nowadays.
We are going a bit off topic here, so let's just get back on it. My apologies for it. I was the one who started this.
