IE lacks too many thing of Firefox.
IE will never be as good as Firefox.
IE is obsolete to Firefox.
IE < Firefox!

I don't understand what people don't get about this!
IE =/= Google Chrome.

If chrome had a dedicated button for bookmarks I would probably use it more then Firefox. I really like its clean interface now I've used for a while.... I can see it being really good if it gets some small quirks fix, like bookmarks and middle mouse button scrolling :(

...Why did I bring IE up?
Seriously. Could have sworn someone was defending IE at some point...

Well anyway, I'm using Chrome right now.
I have to say that so far it is ludicrously fast. I don't know. The speed on its own might just be worth losing the add-ons that Firefox has to offer.
I'll need some more time with Chrome. Given a year or so, I'm putting my money on Chrome having something very good going for it.

EDIT:

...Ah. I was responding to a post belonging to another forum. Real nice.
*is idiot*
Sure I made myself look like one...

FTW.

I hadn't tried Chrome yet.... and probably won't until at least mid 2009. Giving it plenty of time to become as solid as possible.

Sundar Pichai, Google vice president, stated that the browser will exit beta in January. Google, meanwhile, is exploring its distribution options and examining the various ways it might improve its market share. "We will probably do distribution deals,” Pinchai told The Times. "We could work with an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and have them ship computers with Chrome preinstalled." ...

... search giant intends to back Chrome with all of the massive resources at its disposal. "We will throw our weight behind it," said Pichai. "We’ve been conservative because it's still in beta, but once we get it out of beta we will work hard at getting the word out, promoting to users, and marketing will be a part of that."

... Microsoft has never had to compete for browser share against a company as large and powerful as itself. Once Chrome launches, that's going to change; Google has the money and the expertise to match Microsoft dollar-for-dollar and feature-for-feature.

^Same.  I have IE7, Opera 9.5+, Safari, Firefox and Chrome installed here.  I should probably get rid of Safari and Opera, but I like having a lot of backup.

Well, I'm still using Chrome. I'm liking it so far, just for its speed.
Sure it's missing a few things... but it's just fast so that fact doesn't bother me. Give the browser some time.

Out of Beta
« Reply #40 on: December 12, 2008, 03:24:39 am »

Chrome is out of beta. I suspect the timing may have coincided with the recent IE7 exploit being published this week. Since some say that a patch would not be available for about a month (Though there is no way to tell, it could be tomorrow or months away). It would be a good time have it on the market, now is it ready that is another question.
