First off, I'm new to this site but can work my way around to install it.
My first question is: Does this game (or will it...) include a single player mode?
Second: Couldn't I download the demo to Half Life 2 (it has no timer...)? It includes the Source engine to it...

There are no plans for single player at this time.  You need a game that includes the "source sdk base" which doesn't come with the demo.
