yeah but 10 remote mines usually killed someone on the n64.

The problem with UFO! in GES right now is the fact that your toss range is/was really far, too fast-moving, and you didn't suffer any drawback like having a huge fireball rolling at you and blocking your vision, and your ability to throw a second mine.  You can toss-pop all day in Beta 1 and it sucks nuggets.

I have not played the source version yet, I have just been following the progress for a few months and should be replacing my graphically chalenged system by december.

Cyan, there's a difference between remote mines & throwing mines, and only one should be used as throwing mines (the throwing mines, I'd say)...  Having said that, might as well go on...  So I think it should be "fixed" so this little "trick" isn't quite the same, yeah I can do it but it's a pain in the ass.  I think the mines should be able to be set off quickly (about as soon as they hit the target 10ft away) but not as soon as it leaves your hand, that's a little silly.

Thats what you could do on the N64, the only difference is no fireball to halt your progress. Hopefully someone is working on creating this fireball effect for explosions .... Maybe im asking for to much .... Yes, i think i am.
